134

Subnautica is a survival adventure game, but unlike many others in this genre, it creates conditions of pleasant and beautiful well-being. You will find yourself in an alien underwater world full of wonders and perils. As you strive to survive, you come across coral reefs, undersea volcanoes, caves and more. An exciting, breathtaking experience!

Graphics — 5/5

The game was designed specifically for virtual reality glasses, and the creators worked hard on the game's visual appearance.

The graphics are stunning with beautiful underwater effects. Such as bloom, motion blur, depth of field, and a kind of cinematic look. The entire atmosphere is created by visual options like reflections, dithering, color grading, etc. You can mix yourself graphics options to adjust their intensity. This game becomes a real odyssey thanks to its terrific graphics.

You will be amazed at how realistic are the splashes of water flowing down the screen, or how beautiful the local sunsets that change the color of the waves. Especially incomparable Subnautica becomes with the helmet of virtual reality.

Gameplay — 5/5

The scientific ship "Aurora" crashed over the oceanic planet covered with water.  You landed near the place of the fall, and you need to survive in unexplored conditions with no food and drink, and a little water around. Your character will need to get food, search for resources, and make required tools to find a way to fly away from the planet.

But the prospect of surviving in such a place is really not so bad. You will swim among reefs and corals, catch colorful fish,  scan a diverse flora and fauna, and gaze around at the beauty around us.

There are three modes you can choose from to get through the mission. The one that is perfect to start with which is called "Free mode." Here you can switch off dependence on food and drink, and merely explore the oceanic planet in your own pleasure. In the "Survival" regime, all the main indicators like the feeling of thirst and hunger, and a health condition will be turned on. In a case of death, the player will return to the rescue capsule, partially depriving him of the accumulated resources. The third, "Hardcore", will complicate your task to the edge. You'll have only one life and play until the game is over.

Controls — 4.5/5

You will get used to the game controls right from the beginning. Simple and intuitive, they won't give you a chance to fail through their fault. They are standard for such games, but you can customize them as per your needs any moment. WASD keys are for movement, Jumping, floating up, moving down can be managed with other commands of the keyboard. You can find them out in Settings and change as well.

However, once the story comes to an end and the climax is revealed, there are thin chances that you would return to the game shortly.
